his page describes our experience according to the international business continuity standards set by the Business Continuity Institute (BCI) and by the Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRII). These 10 Professional Practices are a standard by which a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) can be evaluated. Project Initiation and Management Over a period of 15 years we have initiated and managed business continuity planning projects for both government and commercial entities.

Three examples demonstrate our competency in this area. In the role as the Chief Business Recovery Planning Architect for Inovant we initiated and managed a project for the Latin American Region of Visa. This involved preparing a project plan, received funding and managing the project to completion. The project involved installation of the Strohl Living Disaster Recovery Planning system, gathering business unit process, equipment, vital records and contact information. We compiled facts showing possible risks to the enterprise from past incidents, relevant regulatory groups and consulting recommendations. We met with sponsors and their designated department heads to obtain their commitment to meet project objectives, enforce policies and to communicate the purpose and goals with the executive committee, board of directors. As the Chief Continuity Officer for Cashflow International, we initiated the Business Continuity Management program as well as the Technology Disaster Recovery plan and managed it through multiple business cycles. In a Senior Business Continuity consulting role for Strohl Systems we defined the need for Business Continuity for a property and casualty insurer in Michigan by leading the risk management department employees in writing business continuity policies, interviewing key officers and building a plan hierarchy to reflect the enterprise scope of the plan.
